 | Beginner Wheel Throwing Pottery: 6-Week Course Class - 6:00PM Beginner Wheel Throwing Pottery: 6-Week Course Join us for a 6-class series guiding you through the full process of making clay pots—from throwing on the wheel to glazing. Classes meet Tuesday nights on the following dates: March 31st, April 7th, 14th, 21st, 27th, and May 12 (No class May 5th). The first 5 weeks we will primarily work on the wheels. The final week will focus on glazing your work. All materials (clay, glaze, and kiln firing) are included. Her experience includes tumbling, jewelry making, cutting and polishing as well as specimen preparation. A one-night introduction to the lapidary arts and what the Duluth Makerspace has to offer local rock and mineral enthusiasts. | Intro to Digital Embroidery Class - 6:00PM Paul Schonfeld is an experienced educator working with University of Minnesota through the Northern Lights Collaborative for Computing Education. He is a long-time member of Duluth Makerspace with experience in 2D and 3D digital design. Participants will learn to: -Operate a Brother SE700 embroidery machine: including how to thread the machine and bobbin assembly and prepare the embroidery frame. -Save and select a simple embroidery design to set up and make an embroidered design on fabric. -Use on-screen design interface and free online tools to create a design. Participants will gain experience making a simple embroidered design and learn skills and tools that can be used to make more complicated and time-consuming designs. | |
