Maker Bio/Info: I have been tearing mechanical things apart and fixing them for about 45 years. I have worked as a cabinetmaker, furnituremaker, architectural millworker and CAD drafting/detailing for wood shops, and as a buyer for woodshops. I have been working with wood for most of my life. I completed 5 semesters of (college) metal arts (fabrication/hand-wrought, lost wax, pierce-work, repousse, hydraulic press, etching, etc.) and have set a few stones in bezels and findings (some of which I made.) Rockhound as a kid, eventually bought a gemstone faceting machine, and have faceted maybe a dozen stones. Computer experience: was an IT manager for a company with 100+ employees, a lead programmer for another company, and have had a small business ("7th Sense Multimedia") for more than a dozen years. I have assembled about 100 PCs, and maintained nearly the same amount. I have a "beginner-level" interest in electronics, and have purchased components to build (stomp-box sized) 7-band EQ. I'm an avid organic gardener, and was a site coordinator several years for the Duluth Community Gardening Program. When cannabis is legalized, I'll grow medicine as well. I'm interested in building an "incubator" to make tempeh - especially using garbanzo beans rather than soy. I fell in love with the sound of acoustic guitars in the 1960s, and started trying to learn how to build them about 25 years ago. That interest got rekindled about 10 years ago, and it has become a passion. A lot of what I hope I can accomplish at MakerSpace will be related to acoustic guitar construction, with a few parts manufactured via CNC (a dream of mine for years.) I am happy to share any knowledge I have accumulated - most of it came from someone else that was willing to share their knowledge.

Current Projects/News: I decided to try to sell some guitars, and am in the middle of the "first run" of a dozen steel-string acoustic-electrics (that are of my engineering and design.) Need to make (re-make) some templates (aluminum and acrylic or polycarbonate, and MDF or plywood), and will use CNC for that. I want to laser cut rosettes and X-Carve the matching inlay rebates into guitar tops.
